Large dogs and Little Johns

SPOILERS FOR SHERLOCK: THE HOUNDS OF BASKERVILLE. If you haven't seen it ... don't peak behind the cut. If you have - enter if you dare.. mindless ramble ahead.. and a few pics :)

Finally got round to watching Sherlock last night (funny, many of my friends still think I refer to the steam-punk big-screen adventure with a - admittedly dishy - Watson and TOTALLY MADCOW Holmes...). Of course I refer to the VASTLY SUPERIOR BBC mini series "Sherlock" (if you haven't seen it.. whatchastillsittingherereadingthis?!?!?!). And 'The Hounds of Baskerville' (note: plural hounds, singular Baskerville!!!) was the most eagerly awaited one for me since this is one of my all-time favourite Doyle stories. And how brilliantly adapted for 21st century it was (though I must say, A Scandal in Belgravia was even perfecter (yeah, I know ;).. maybe it was the extra humour added to the hilarious enough dialogues and scenes.. so many laughs I wouldn't know where to start... proper blog post follows, along with tons of screencaps).
Anyroad.. Sherlock Holmes 'Who let the dogs out'. I had been wondering how they'd get the Hellhounds/Dartmoor/escaped convict.. story translated into 'Netective speak.. nice angle with the genetic-experiment-area51ish theme:). Have yet to re-watch and savour/analyse/autopsy/screencap it... the first viewing is always the visual equivalent of gorging oneself with favourite foodstuff (pomelos, toona salad, chocolate-cherry-chocolate-more chocolate cake..)
Just this for now.. the probably most brilliant (I know, overuse.. but - at least visually - it was ;)) single scene - Sherlock's severly  suffering from withdrawal (no smokes, no cases).. and goes out for a bit of occupational therapy. Then returns, more (or less?) successful... the look on John's face as the camera slowly wanders up from his feet to his face... priceless. The mind boggles at what this therapy involved.
I HAD TO shop all frames into one. Judge for yourself (click to enlarge)... Call me Ishmael (or Ahab)

Other first impressions/thoughts... the ep opens in a fairytale forest-like setting,

you half expect Little Red Riding Hood and the big bad wolf and you get....

everbody's favourite werewolf!!!! I was dead chuffed to see Russell again, shortens the wait for Being Human season 4. :)
And one more telly-related coincidence.. two Little Johns in one ep. Robin of Sherwoood's Clive Mantle as Dr. Frankland (btw - LOVED him in Game of Thrones!!).. and The BBC Robin Hood's (aka RAbin Hood ;) equivalent - Gordon 'love the Scottish burr' Kennedy as Gary the bar/inn keeper...
Anyroad, more thoughts/pics on both eps (and maybe even series 1, finally) later this month. Just like John Watson, I need time to put my cases together :)
Last cap of the ep - a blast from the past... though my dad never had one of them in his car. Bobblehead pooches. We used to call them 'Wackeldackel' (wobble-sausage dogs...or somet).
